Sleepy Hollow
Visual Development Study
Set in 1921 in Belleray France, close to the world war 1 western front and the ghost town near trenches, a young American veteran (Ichabod Crane) moves in to teach English at the town's school, and singing to the young ladies of the town. Here Crane gets into a love triangle with the town war hero and the town's most eligible and rich bachelorette.
But there are rumors of the dead walking in the ghost town near the trenches. Most of the town agrees to avoid the abandoned town and trenches, partially because of the land mines and dead shells, but also because they whisper about a "horseman" or dead soldier without a head, roaming through no man's land, searching for his head that was shot off by an artillery casing. When Ichabod is traveling home from a party, his car breaks down and has to stop on the outskirts of this ghost town, where he is then chased through the trenches on foot by the horseman. Is it PTSD from the war that Ichabod is experiencing? A jealous man trying to scare Ichabod away from the girl? Or an apparition? Dun dun duuuuuuuunnn....
